Performance Opportunities
Jumping on stage and performing in front of an audience is always a real buzz for students and is ultimately, the reason that they want to learn performing arts. At Dance Theatre Network, we offer a great range of performance opportunities for our students to be involved in each year including:
Presentation Day
This event is held at a local venue at the end of Term 2. Each class presents a 10 minute ‘mini class’ in front of family and friends and an independent judge. Trophies, medals and ribbons are awarded to students who give outstanding performances on this day and all students receive a certificate. Participation is encouraged - please just let us know if your child is not available to participate.
Concert
We have 3 annual concerts which are held at Hurstville Entertainment Centre in December each year. Please check the Enrolment Handbook for details about which concert your child will perform in. Participating in the concert is a wonderful experience for the students and a great way to round off the year of classes. Our administration will assume that your child is going to be participating - please notify by 1st August if your child is not able to join in on the fun!
Competitions
Our representative dance crews perform regularly at competitions (eisteddfods) as well as community events and talent quests throughout the year. If your child is interested in becoming part of one of our dance crews, please see our competition teams page for selection criteria.
Overseas Tours
We regularly offer opportunities for students to join overseas tours, where they get to perform at wonderful places all around the world. Family groups travel together as part of our large DTN group at discounted rates. Overseas tours are open to ALL students who fit the age criteria of the performance locations and venues – some age restrictions can apply. To date our students have danced at: Disneyland California, Disneyworld Orlando, Universal Studios Orlando, Disneyland Hong Kong, Sunway Resort Kuala Lumpar, Avenue of the Stars Hong Kong and Oasis of the Seas, Royal Caribbean cruises out of Miami. We are always planning our next dance tour - ask at the office for more information.
